How often would one see a certificate like this, marking 70 years in Freemasonry?  
At a recent meeting of Domus Dei Lodge 5151 W Bro Julian Linington celebrated
70 years in Freemasonry, and to commemorate such a momentous achievement,
he was presented with this rather special certificate by APGM W Bro Alan
Hamilton, on behalf of the Provincial Grand Master R W Bro Brian C Bellinger.
Holding the certificate, Julian was surrounded by friends and well wishers
including (from left) W Bro Bob Collins, W Bro Victor Jenner, APGM Alan Hamilton, Lodge Master W Bro Bryan Olive (in the background, in the Chair), together with Julian’s son Bro Miles Linington and W Bro Michael Morgan.
W Bro Julian was initiated (by special dispensation, as he was not quite 21) in
February 1939. In expressing his sincere thanks for the award, he stated rather
modestly to the crowded Lodge Room that he was ‘lost for words’ - even after
having spent some 32 years as Domus Dei Lodge Secretary, no small achievement
in itself…. |
